The journey so far...

“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life,
and the only way to be truly satisfied is to
do what you believe is great work.
And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.”
- Steve Jobs

The time passes so quickly, I realised I just hit my first anniversary working full time in church a month ago. I never worked in a company more than a year because in the past, I had to study and work part time at the same time.

One small step

Being a control freak who likes to take control of everything, I always want to know what's next, I need to be well prepared in order for me to be efficient, I enjoy plan things ahead, and I hate uncertainty. Which is why I hardly do things without planning, but this time I decided to go for a random roadtrip with my friends, I can't help but started planning everything. I started searching online for our accommodation, and the whole itinerary etc. Being in control makes me feel safe, I guess it shows how insecure I am. I know that and I am still fighting this, everyday.

City Light Penang

A work trip to Penang this time with pastor, one of my mission was to conduct a workshop on Media/Design at City Light Church, Penang.  Throughout these 3days 4 nights, I seen a different perspective on ministering to others, I realise there is a bridge I can build something to help people realize how important they are serving in media ministry, I see a bigger picture of how God is using me, all those endurance and perseverance to be who I am today (yet I am still learning to be better), God is already using me for the next generation.

Papa How & Mama How Photoshoot

Today, I had the honour to be their photographer to photograph their maternity shoot. This is my first time shooting for couple and it is also to welcome the arrival of Princess How :) Being their close friend/cg member for almost two years, I have known them more and deeper, they know me so much more than I know about myself. They are always there for me, and I can never say enough of thank you of being patient with me when I was depressed, emotional, naughty, rebellious, and all you can name it. I would say, they are my most favourite couple not because they are the most perfect one, but because they are the most real couple I ever met, someone that I would look up to be when I have a partner in the future.

Here it is, day one shooting at Empire Damansara, loving this place :) Thank God for beautiful sunny weather (no rain), and no one disturb us during the whole shooting too! We also had good chat (mostly me whining) over tea time at FRANCO :')

To my mama of C11/big sista/ji mui, you are still beautiful inside out as pregger! hehe!

New every morning.

November 9. I suddenly remembered two years ago of today, I was baptised. Out of boredom, I looked back these pictures, the day I was baptised, it got me thinking about my journey so far, following Jesus. I don't have the best testimony to share about His goodness over my life, but I do have stories of how I have encountered Jesus during tough times.

PRESENCE X SYDNEY

The purpose of my whole trip in Sydney is to attend Presence Conference by C3 Church. One of the most anticipating speaker I have always been dreaming to hear from is Pastor Steven Furtick.

BONDI X SYDNEY

Another Sydney attraction that you can't missed out is Bondi Beach. We went for the golden sand and blue ocean! People like me cannot swim, but I enjoy everything about it except get into the water. On the first day we went to Bondi was after Hillsong service, but the weather was so cold and windy.

MARKETS X SYDNEY

How can you missed Sydney Fish Market when you are in Sydney right? First, aim the oysters baby! I don't know how to describe the taste of fresh oysters, it feels like you have tasted the ocean :')

HILLSONG X SYDNEY

So, one of my bucket list is to attend Hillsong Church in Sydney. Hillsong is the pioneered contemporary church in Australia since 1983, I mean, most of us growing up listening to their song, they brought worship music to a whole new level. I decided to visit their first campus at the Hills Campus, travelling there was a challenge to us as the journey took about 45 minutes from the place we stayed.

It is located at 1 - 5 Solent Circuit Baulkham Hills NSW 2153. You can take public transport there but it will takes more than one hour. Then, we decided to rent a car and drove to Baulkham Hills, pretty exciting journey as we just solely depended on Google Map.

Before our arrival, I have contacted their concierge team in advanced so that we could have someone to host us. Considering as first time visiting Hillsong, I am so impressed by their hospitality team. Not only they replied my email and they also remember me, and reserved seat for us too. Also, every new friends get a cup of free coffee! They have a cafe bar at the new friend lounge and I forgot to take photo :'(

When service started, I felt so surreal that I am sitting right here attending their main service at their first campus.

So blessed.

AIRBNB X SYDNEY

So, I just came back from Sydney trip for Presence Conference 2015. This time, I decided to try Airbnb for the first time as I don't want to spend too much on hotel, but I also don't want to stay in a backpackers.

Airbnb is a trusted community marketplace for people to list, discover, and book unique accommodations around the world. Whether an apartment for a night, a castle for a week, or a villa for a month.

Airbnb website is really user-friendly to browse, we can pick any location, the period of your stay, number of guest, and you even set your budget. When I was searching for a place to accomodate at least 6 people and not more than RM100 a night, I found one apartment located in Cammeray, Sydney NSW.

I contacted the host to know more about the apartment, the location wise, and the distance to travel to city. James is our host, and he is so friendly to answer every questions, he is actively communicating during our pre-arrival.

We booked the place immediately and here we are, checked in! And check out this place! The place looks exactly like the photos on Airbnb, everything is just so beautiful. I like how our host put so much effort and detail to decorate the whole place, so cozy and lovely! We have Netflix to watch, which the guys were obsessed with it.

Classic Scramble Eggs with Toasted Croissant & Sautéed Mushroom

There are two things I love about having a breakfast; eggs and mushroom. Breakfast is the first meal of your day, and having a good breakfast make your day, they kick start your day like a winner!

8 Things in 2014 That I Am Thankful For

Happy New Year! I know is a bit late to wish everyone, but I just accepted the fact that 2015 is here,  it is really here! As much as I want to stay in denial, but I want to move on and live a fruitful life this year. I was depressed when the new calendar is now showing 1st of January 2015, I don't even bother to reply "Happy New Year" wishes on my phone, ridiculously sounded, I was that bitter about everything because I feel like I have wasted my entire year in 2014 because of the one calling I wanted to focus, but end up everything couldn't make it through. I am so disappointed at myself for so many things I have done or have't not done in 2014. I want to make it up to the things that I was sorry for, forget about new year resolution of 'changing to be a better person'. I think the one thing we need to always remind ourselves is to stay grateful.

That's why I decided to pen down the things that I am thankful for in 2014 in order to welcome 2015.

1. A Second Family - C11

Though I have joined this beautiful family only one year, but I feel I have known them long enough, we are bonded not just friends, but like a family, which means sometimes we don't just share happiness but sadness too. I am so looking forward to more journey with them :)

2. Paradise in Krabi

A mark in my life.

I haven't make a time to blog about my journey in ChromeHeart Origins, which is the 3rd instalment of Chromeheart Production by my church CHCKL. If you have been following my blog, you seen me involved in the first and second back in 2-3 years ago. Our church had a long break since the second instalment back in April 2012. It was still one of the best time in my life during Chromeheart Revelation.

After 2 years and a half, the last instalment recruitment is back, and knowing me has been growing up as working adult. I thought I just skipped this time, no-time-for-this that kinda thing was running in my head. I gave myself hundred of excuses "Why I shouldn't join Chromeheart 3?". To cut the grandmother story short, somehow I am in as I am part of the ministry and I did not continue to invalid myself to participate because I realise may be is God's will. I intent to skip the recruitment, but somehow I am in. I guess God made it clear.

So here comes the routine of dance practices and late night rehearsal. Funny as this sounded, I felt so left out this time. 90% of the cast are new, to the extend I do not know who they are at all. They are new members in church, fresh blood indeed. I thought I am gonna be just #ForeverAlone you know. The only group of friends that I am familiar are the dance ministry people. Well, thank God for them!

Okay, practices, practices and more practices. Let's fast forward to the real day of the show because that was what I hope for everyday. I can't wait for this to over because I am exhausted everyday. One thing I really thank God for is my cell leader, who always surprised me for some sweet treats to cheer  us up during rehearsal :')

#LH911 GeekNerd Birthday Party

Time passed! Entering September11 again, yes my birthday :) I had such a blast this year because my beloved cell group C11 surprised me with a theme party! The theme is classroom/school geek/nerd, because the cafe is a very old school setting, filled with blackboard, pencil case and things that we sure had during childhood. They invited me on 10 Sept, my birthday eve to attend this party,  the invitation e-card was so cute!

Cupcakes from Just Heavenly, it was really heavenly delicious! :')

Look at how my members dressed up! They really went all out, I was really touched.

Introducing my siao leader and siao leaders' wife! They are superb cute! They have sacrificed so much for us and that night I have seen beyond that... Ian and Chia Huey, the most wonderful couple and mentor I really look up to.

Just want to say how blessed I am to be part of this cell group. This is my first year celebrating birthday with them, and I know more to come. My heart was really moved not because of having a big party, but is the fellowship and joy we shared together that night. I have never experienced so much love from people like them, these are the most wonderful people I have known in my life. Thank you so much C11! I love you fami! I don't have the words to describe how I feel, the one thing I want to praise God for is the people around me. Thank you Jesus :)

Happy Birthday to #MamaWhaley :)

Japanese Village @ Bukit Tinggi

When I was in my holiday in French Village, we went uphill for Japanese Village, for the sake of Kimono! The whole place is really beautiful, fresh air, trees and flowers everywhere, river flow everywhere!

Okay, so the one thing we must try is wearing Kimono and take a lot of photo! Honestly, I think we can pull of the Jap look right? Nope, this is not free, we had to pay RM20 for one Kimono :)

French Village @ Bukit Tinggi

Bonjour! First time visit this beautiful place which I am quite proud we can find a French Village here in Malaysia! Yay! It was a simple getaway, I wanted to take a break and just breathe again :) Although there is nothing much here in this place, but I get to rest, experience and spend some quality time here with God, myself, and my best friend.

The food here was really really over priced, cut throat to the max and it wasn't a fine dining quality :( But we had no choice to keep calm and eat more xD Btw, Ms. Black Swan is unique and beautiful :)
